Turku School of Economics (TSE) is one of the largest institutes in Finland for education in economic science. TSE was established in 1950 on the initiative of the business community. The school became state-owned in 1977.
A high standard of research is maintained not only by the departments within the school, but also by its auxiliary units, i.e. the Business Research and Development Centre, the Finland Futures Research Centre and the Pori Unit. The Turku Centre for Computer Science (TUCS) is a joint centre of research and education for the three universities in Turku.
